I want to replace them with gold (or brass w/e is that goldish color) parts, I need a new floyd trem and ive always wanted it to have gold hardware so I figured i would just change all of it and get a gold trem but I am not having much luck finding individual pieces to buy.
I recently visited the UK, primarily to attend the Download Festival. Whilst I was in England I visited the Marshall Factory in Bletchley. It was good to see a 1959RR half stck in the foyer when I arrived. My tour guide Geoff is the Marshall Archivist so I quizzed him on exactly how many of the 195RR's were actually produced at the factory. No exact figures were available but he said "in the hundreds, but less than a thousand".
Further on in the tour there was a Marshall poster featuring Randy Rhoads - the staff were very helpful in tracking down one for me to take home - at no charge!
At the factory, there is a small auditorium with a stage, PA etc for private clinics, shows etc. In the auditorium there was a (larger than) life size cardboard cutout of our man. Here are some photos:-

Just came across this today! Premier Guitar magazine has an interview with Jackson Master Builder Mike Shannon about Randy's Jacksons with some cool pix of both guitars. Its in the July 2011 issue which I need to go out and find! Here is the link to the online version I saw: http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2011/Jul/Builder_Profile_Jackson_Custom_Shop.aspx?Page=1

Interesting that even Randy's black Jackson had black tape on the back of it. I'm starting to think the story about the tape on the back of the white Concorde being there per Sharon's request for a dark stage is not entirely accurate. I mean, why cover up a black guitar with black tape if thats the case? Plus, the black tape would really only be needed on the white guitar which Randy used to open the show with. That would be the Les Paul yet it and the Polka Dot V don't have any tape. The article states Randy put the tape there to protect the back of the guitar. I think that makes more sense than the dark stage/dark guitar thing at this point. Anyway, just my opinion.
BTW, the cover features both Jacksons on of Randy's on it

Rudy

I remember I got my copy from Columbia House in one of those 12 CD's for one cent deals in 92' and that was it. I spent weeks listening to it non-stop and still get a rush from it till this day.
I just picked up the July 2011 issue of Guitar World at the news stand last night. Randy is the entire front cover and there is an article inside including a pullout poster. I think its great that Randy still continues to be rembemered and graces the cover of guitar magazines nearly 30 years later. Some cool pix in the issue. My only disappointment with it is that none of the shots feature him with either of his Jacksons. On the up side though there is an interview with Zakk Wylde in the same issue and he recounts a story where a young fan walks up to him and tells him he's the best guitarist Ozzy ever had. Zakk tells him no, that would be Randy. Pretty cool!

Rudy
